Dimensions: Sheath: 34.5 cm x 34.5 cm Base; 43 cm X 43 cm Height: 111.5 cm Mouchy-le-Chatel Castle built in the 16th century by the Maricourt Family then passed to the 1st Duke of Noailles in the First Part of the 17th century, it was restored then considerably enlarged under the Second Empire by the Dukes of Mouchy, younger branch of the Noailles House. The work was entrusted to the Architect Hyppolyte Destailleur (1822-1893), the Sculptor Michel Liènard (1810-1870) and the Statuary Mathurin Moreau who reinvented the Maricourt Castle while preserving the decorative repertoire of the Renaissance. The German occupation during the Second World War will deal a fatal blow to this beautiful harmony, since the 1960s and the destruction of this immense building, the Greniers de Mouchy housed certain memories of the disappeared Castle
