Little Girl Sitting With A Toy – Oil On Canvas, 19th Century

Charming little oil on canvas with an original subject, since it presents a little girl sitting in a high-backed chair, holding a "puzzle" type toy in her hands.
The child is wearing a black dress, brightened by a white lace collar. On her head, she wears a bonnet with yellow embroidery and laces. On the table next to her, we see a basket in which there is a flowery fabric.
The toy is finely painted: rings surround two metal rods, no doubt they should be separated.
The work is cracked, but overall in good condition. It has been cleaned. It is offered in its original frame, in gilded wood and metal (some gilding retouches). On the back, there is an inscription on the stretcher, to be deciphered.
