"Kalamkari Thousand Flowers In Glazed Chintz - Kadjar Persia - Early 20th Century"
Early 20th centuryPersian Late Qajar DynastyA Kalamkari square, a reed-painted canvas with a Thousand Flowers design, which has retained its glazed chintz finish and dates from the end of the Qajar period. Very fine cotton painted with preserved original colors (presence of yellow, which usually disappears in the first wash) whose shiny chintz recalls the crisp effect of the paper. Drawing with a herringbone border frame highlighted by fine neo-classical friezes found in 19th-century Persian miniatures. The piece was meticulously lined with a blue printed cotton with black cotton borders for its good preservation. The only flaw to note is a repair of a few centimeters in the background, difficult to observe. Very good condition in terms of color and preservation.Dimensions: 108 cm x 103 cm
