"Himalayan Ritual Vase In Chiseled Silver And Hard Stones – 19th / 20th Century "
Himalayan ritual vase in chiseled silver and hard stones – 19th / 20th century Elegant globular vase with a flared neck, made of silver finely chiseled with plant scrolls and floral registers, typical of Tibetan or Nepalese liturgical work of the late 19th century. The original structure, probably intended for ritual use (lustral water, offerings), was enhanced in the 20th century with rich inlays of hard stones: turquoise, coral, lapis lazuli and blue paste, in a decorative tradition specific to the workshops of Kathmandu. The mounting of the stones, typical of the 1950s-1970s, is entirely handmade and respects the sacred decorative rhythms. The base, the interior and the undecorated areas confirm an ancient work in hammered solid silver. Transitional object between sacred art and decorative art, both authentic and spectacular. Origin: Himalayas (Tibet / Nepal) Period: Late 19th century silver base / stone decoration circa 1950–70 Materials: Silver, turquoise, coral, lapis lazuli Dimensions: [To be completed if necessary] Condition: Very good condition, some slight wear from use
