The body of the case is engraved with rocaille motifs of foliage, shells, and flowers.
On the lid, two birds are kissing, symbols of love. The base of the case forms a wax seal with a coat of arms that can be emblazoned as follows: azure, five fish (?) in pale, placed in a cross.
This coat of arms is beneath a charming and original wreath of roses.
I have not been able to identify the family to whom this coat of arms belongs.
The case is hallmarked:
. Dog's head: Parisian discharge mark between 1738 and 1744.
. Bird's head facing left, which I have not been able to identify, probably a later control mark.
Magnificent and early little case with a beautiful engraved coat of arms, dating from the 18th century, more precisely from the reign of the good King Louis XV.
