"Well Bucket - 17th Century"
Wrought iron and copper well bucket. Probably 17th or 18th century. Lorraine? Rare and exceptional well bucket in copper and wrought iron, which justifies the advertised price. Subject to intensive use, this bucket is reinforced at the bottom and top by a wrought iron hoop. The two circles are connected by 8 twisted wrought iron stiffeners (a sign of its antiquity). The handle is also wrought iron. Placed on the kitchen water stone, water was drawn with a water bag or casse (ladle with hollow handle) to drink at the feast or wash hands ... Its condition is good considering its age and the use it has been made of. Note a perforation on the bottom and some lack of material on the lower circle. Height 27 cm, opening 31 cm, base 22 cm The photos speak for the quality of this bucket!
