Giuseppe Serafini (Montelupo Fiorentino 1915 - 1987)
The Tuscan artist, discovered by Antonio Possenti and
inserted by him into the current of naive artists,
worked as a ceramist and began to
paint out of passion from a young age.
His humble origins did not allow him to buy colors
so he invented his own mixed painting technique
His favorite subjects are scenes that portray the work of his land,
faces, animals, especially doves and oxen.
In the painting in question the doves surround in a sparse way
two men with hollow faces, with large blue eyes
At the bottom right the signature and the date (84)
which places it at the end of the author's career
