"Pair Of Gouaches On Vellum, 17th Century"
Portraits of the Virgin Mary and the Infant Jesus Pair of gouaches executed on vellum. One represents the Virgin Mary, the other the Infant Jesus. The figures are inscribed in baroque cartouches decorated with cut-out leather, scrolls and acanthus leaves. Each composition is framed with bouquets of flowers in the four corners: tulips, roses and morning glories. The whole is presented under glass in molded giltwood frames, decorated with scrolls and foliage. Original frame, original glass. Work dating from the 17th century.
