"Portrait Of A 19th Century Noblewoman By Joseph Felon 1818-1896"
Oil painting on canvas from the second half of the 19th century of French origin made by the painter JOSEPH FELON. The painting depicts a noblewoman sitting on a chair with red upholstery. To her left a brightly colored curtain falls over a console table. The woman wears a black dress with a wide white lace collar as well as the bottom of the sleeves of the dress. Intense and concentrated gaze with an austere appearance, enlivened by just a few external details such as the earrings worn, the ring and the fan that she holds tightly in her right hand. High pictorial quality from the fresh and rosy complexion of the face and hands. Long dark brown hair gathered back and falling on the shoulders. The painting is inserted in its original black and gold lacquered frame and is signed and dated lower right JOSEPH FELON 1863 and is on the first canvas. It should be noted that the painting has a small restoration in the upper left of the canvas due to an old tear.
