Important Macchad rug signed by the master knotter (photo), Iran around 1930.
Hand-knotted kork wool, with around 360,000 knots per m2, in very good condition but with almost general wear, which gives it a very decorative look, very large home.
This rug has had a long life, but it remains alive like a floor painting.
Its large size, 273 cm wide by 405 cm long, is suitable for large living rooms.
This beautiful rug comes from the province of Mashhad. Beautiful, highly crafted piece.
Mashhad is the second largest city in Iran located in the Northeast, it is nicknamed "the city with a thousand faces."
A decoration of a large radiant rose window of great complexity with two large pendants on an old pink background and four spandrels, cover the field.
This medallion represents two large stylized flowers placed side by side, surrounded by a swirl of large lotus flowers.
From the medallion and the pendants come many interlacing branches.
All over the field appear fine wavy and flowery volutes, and large bouquets and palms.
The colors in places of great freshness, vivid, have a dominant of a beautiful pink, and deep blue for the field, the border on a brown background.
Note the quality of the two border braids with an ivory and wine lees background, narrow friezes, decorated with flowers and botehs.
The fringes are long, in good condition.
The fine and soft kork wool, taken at the neck and under the belly of the lambs, (to the first shearing) composes the velvet knotted on a fine cotton for the weft.
This carpet has been professionally and ecologically cleaned.
