Oil on canvas depicting a portrait of a man sitting at his desk. Signed and dated lower right Ch. Naillod, 3-1941. Charles Naillod (Paris 1876- Lectoure 1941). French painter, engraver and illustrator. Studied at the Beaux-Arts in Paris. Student of Jules Lefebvre, Benjamin Constant and Fernand Cormon. Exhibited in 1906 at the Salon des Indépendants and then from 1920 at the Salon des Artistes Francais. In 1938, he left for Lectoure in the Gers where he died in June 1941. 61 x 45 cm. Good general condition with some restorations to be done.
