"Large Barbotine Vase With Flowers In Relief, Edouard Gilles? 19th Century"
Large slip vase with very raised flowers. On a white to black gradient background, a bouquet of flowers blooms. The very raised flowers look real. This slip technique was very complex to achieve, which is why we rarely find them. The roses are well open and fleshy. Some chips in the petals formerly reworked in color. This vase is fixed on a gilded bronze base. Impossible to dismantle the base, but we think it is a work of Edouard Gilles. Period 19th century. Delivery 30 euros in France, 80 euros in the EU and 150 euros rest of the world.
