The tigers are placed on a base that resembles earth thanks to sgraffito, and are depicted roaring. The stripes on their bodies have been left in relief, as have the hair on their faces; the whiskers and nose are not, but are simply engraved on the surface of the marble. The influence of Tibetan and Indian examples is evident in this figure, which is distinguished by a magnificent combination of textures and the expressiveness of the animal. -
