"Art Nouveau Cane "
Admire this sublime Art Nouveau cane, circa 1900, in scarified medlar! This French work from the Belle Epoque is a true work of art! The bronze knob with 2 patinas (gilded bronze and silvered bronze) takes up all the plant codes of Art Nouveau, dear to the Nancy school. On the branches and leaves rests a languid naked woman, perfectly matching the ergonomics of the knob, thus revealing all the beauty and sensuality of this fabulous era ... The few lacks of patina on the protruding parts of the woman's body prove that this cane, although being a high-quality ornament, was also an everyday object. We can perfectly imagine its former and wealthy owner wandering the streets of Paris 1900, where Hector GUIMARD had just had his metro ornaments installed which would make him world famous ... A magnificent cane, not to be missed! Total length 83.5 cmPommeau 7 x 5 cm
