A hollowed-out walnut shell, with a frame encircled by thin strips of alloy decorated with a frieze and a hinge. It has a suspension ring. It contains seven Nontron knives with nickel silver blades and pyrographed boxwood handles: six 27 mm Nontron walnut knives and one 15 mm Nontron hazelnut knife.
These miniature knives are considered to be among the smallest in the world.
