Rosewood and palisander drop-leaf secretary, with a shape that is shaped like a butterfly, opening two doors, two drawers and a drop-leaf revealing four drawers and four compartments, the gray marble top resting on canted uprights finished with small arched feet. Small scratches at the base at the level of the belt. All the rest of the veneer in excellent condition. Stamp of Jean-Georges Schlichtig, cabinetmaker received master in 1765 and JME, Louis XV period. Height: 140 cm; Width: 74 cm; Depth: 35 cmExcellent cabinetmaker established on rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine in Paris, Jean Georges Schlichtig (died in 1782) probably worked for Marie-Antoinette. He created Louis XV, Transitional Louis XV, Louis XVI and Louis XVI style furniture, including chests of drawers and secretaries.
