Important covered vase forming a celestial blue porcelain incense burner. Gilded chased bronze mount. Quadripod base with claw endings. Lion muzzle handles and hanging rings. Body highlighted with drapery, held in a blooming flower. Mark with crossed arrows in blue in the lid. Maison Locré is a house of excellent craftsmanship founded by Jean-Baptiste Locré in Paris in 1771. It is renowned under the reigns of Louis XV, Louis XVI, the Consulate, the Empire for its porcelain pieces and its leather-covered boxes. This factory on rue de la Fontaine-au-Roy is also known as the "fabrique de la Courtille" or Basse-Courtille, and "fabrique de la rue de la Fontaine-Nationale" for the revolutionary period.
