Jean Rémond studied in the studio of Cormon and Richemond. At the beginning of his career, he painted landscapes of Brittany and Corrèze. He traveled to the Orient, Egypt, Syria, Palestine and brought back luminous watercolors. The artist exhibited at the Salon from 1894 until 1913. Co-founder, in 1908, of La Cimaise, a group of painters, sculptors and decorative artists who exhibited together at the Galerie Georges Petit, then at the Galerie Devambez in Paris from 1909 to 1922. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français and became a Member in 1903. In 1905, he exhibited at the sixth exhibition of Arts Réunis at Petit in Paris, a large group of paintings including: "Riverside", "Small Port", "Storm Effect", "Sunbeam". He appeared at the Salon de Nancy, notably in 1907 with two paintings: Chapel of Clarity, Snow Effect, and in 1908 with two watercolors: Chapel at Portpodec, House at Portpodec. In 1909, he participated in the Retrospective Exhibition organized by the SLAA in Nancy for honor Lorraine artists who have won awards at the Parisian Salons. He exhibited there: Landscape of the Spanish Pyrenees, Joy, Church of Penmarch. In 1910 he became friends with the painter Léon Lhermitte and settled in Sainte-Aulde and exhibited some works there: Women on the banks of the Marne, Gables at dusk, Snow at Sainte-Aulde, May Night, etc. 2000
