"18th Century French School: Portrait Of A Gentleman."
Magnificent portrait of a gentleman from the Louis XV period. This elegant and refined aristocrat is represented in 3/4, exceptionally, still on his original canvas. He is dressed in a sumptuous gold-embroidered waistcoat, covering an immaculate white shirt and scarf, with a wrap of a loose stole of red moiré velvet. Displaying a mischievous smile, his hair is lacquered and powdered. Its magnificent frame, from the same period, in carved and gilded oak wood, mounted with a key patina on the back ''hare'' robe, from the Louis XV period, is richly decorated with scallop shells, foliage and flowers, crowning the enhancement of this portrait.
Anonymous work. Oil on its original canvas from the Louis XV period, restored with a small patch, unsigned: 64 x 81 cm
