Maurice Barle, 1903-1961, French painter of seascapes and port views. He was a student at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Exhibited from 1926 at the Salon des Artistes Indépendants and the Salon d'Hiver in Paris. This native Parisian was very early attracted by the Mediterranean and its light. He quickly specialized in the representation of ports and seaside resorts of Provence, Côte d'Azur and Corsica. We also owe him some seascapes and Orientalist landscapes. He received the Silver Medal from the City of Paris in 1962. Artist listed in Bénézit, Coté Artprice, Artnet, Akoun, etc...
