Stains, folds, old tears restored
Probably made when Verdier was at the height of his career and his art in the workshops of Le Brun. The main hypothesis is that it is a "modello" drawing either for a specific commission (ultimately not realized or since lost) or as a model, to be presented during visits of potential sponsors, to show the type of project that the workshop could realize.
