The foliate entablature rests on a putto's head, above a scrolled cartouche with a "jester's game" decoration. The lower part of the console table is made of curved acanthus leaves that end with a small flower.

These console tables belonged to the J. Bonjean-Brantôme collection. Jean-Paul Bonjean was one of the first collectors and antique dealers to have brought the 17th century back into fashion. Brantôme was the name of the gallery he opened with the decorator Jean Pascaud. Our console tables can be seen on the front cover of the book "Le XVII° Français", by Stéphane Faniel and Pierre Levallois, coll. Connaissance des arts, published by Hachette, 1958
