The delicacy of this portrait is typical of the golden age of portraiture in the 19th century. Precisely at a time when graphic art was competing with photography and had to outdo itself.
It was above all in the search for a psychological evocation of the sitter's character that the draughtsmen distinguished themselves, as can be seen here. There's a real sense of life here, and it's particularly touching.
For the moment, it has not been possible to decipher the signature, which indicates a particularly talented artist
