"Second Half Of The 18th Century Painting With Architectural Caprice"
Beautiful
oil painting on canvas depicting a classic architectural caprice, in a
fascinating play of architecture and shadows populated by small characters. In
an imaginary background landscape, imposing classical-style buildings stand,
masterfully created in the use of perspective and shadows. Among these
architectures, figures of different sizes can be seen, intent on walking or
stopping, dressed in oriental clothes and turbans. The frame, also of
considerable value, is contemporary and characterized by carved wood with
geometric decorations, embellished with pure gold leaf gilding. This painting,
of extraordinary workmanship and production, is able to enrich any environment
with elegance and class. It is attributed to a Venetian painter of the school
of Giuseppe Zais, around the second half of the 18th century.
