Unique piece handcrafted by Alice Colonieu Rare pitcher with wide handle and spout in green and white glazed chamotte clay. Circular stamp of the artist intaglio on the back of the base. Alice Colonieu (1924-2010) is a French ceramist and sculptor, trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Marseille and the École de céramique de Montpellier. She is distinguished by her ceramic works with organic shapes and bright colors, made mainly with coils. She exhibited at the Salon des Arts Décoratifs and won several awards, including a gold medal in 1961. Collaborating with decorators such as Jean Royère, her works are preserved in prestigious museums such as the Musée national d'Art moderne in Paris.
