Pair Of French Renaissance-inspired Bronzes, Jacques Callot

Rare and surprising pair of bronzes inspired by the graphic work of Jacques Callot (1592-1635).

These two figures are dressed in the fashion of the time with unusual attitudes, one seems to belch and the other holds his nose.
The details are of high quality in the faces with a beautiful finesse of chiseling.
The patina recalls that of the bronzes of the 18th century.
A slightly brownish patina with moiré reflections. One of the two has a small cast hole at its base and turns on its base.
The bases are made of blackened wood with brass or tin threads in the spirit of Louis XIV.
A very elegant pair of bronzes and inspired by the French Renaissance towards the spirit of the early 17th century but it is a very beautiful work of the 19th.
