Charles Roussel (1861-1936)
Charles was a student of Cabanel, Weerts and Tattegrain at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lille. He lived and worked in Berck. He exhibited in Paris, at the Salons des Artistes Français, of which he was a member from 1887, and at the Tuileries. He also exhibited in Saint Petersburg in 1903, at the Universal Exhibition of Saint Louis in 1904 and then in Buenos Aires in 1909. He also worked with Gauguin in Pont-Aven. Roussel is now present in the museum collections of Nice and Tourcoing.
