Pedro Flores Garcia was born in Murcia in 1897. He studied drawing at the Economic Society of Friends of the Country in his city and, at just 16 years old, won a painting prize awarded by the city.
In 1924, he organized his first exhibition, then exhibited the following year in Barcelona, where he received critical acclaim. This success earned him a scholarship from the Provincial Council of Murcia to continue his studies in Paris. There, he set up his studio while remaining active on the Spanish art scene.
In 1933, he participated in the Spanish Art Exhibition in Paris and frequented several Parisian salons. Deeply attached to his cultural heritage, his work remains rooted in Spanish themes. He also became one of the major figures of the famous "School of Paris". That same year, he left Paris to settle in Barcelona, where he obtained a position as a drawing professor at the Balmes Institute.
However, from 1940, he returned to live in Paris, while continuing to exhibit in Madrid, Barcelona, Santander, and Murcia. He died in 1968 in the French capital.
Although the majority of his works belong to private collections, some can be seen in prestigious museums, including the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid, the National Museum of Prague, the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires, the Museum of Fine Arts of Puerto Rico, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Caracas, as well as in several institutions in France and Spain, including the Museo Nacional de Arte de Catalunya and the Museo de Bellas Artes de Murcia.
