Its particularity, two large medallions spread over the field, which makes it a real rarity!
For my part, it is the first that I meet !!! ## The Afchari, produced in the village of Deh-Shotoran a carpet of the same kind before the Second World War, aesthetically pleasing carpets and very neat in quality.
From the second part of the 19th century, this carpet comes from the region of Chahar Mahal (Shotour) in Iran.
It is a Bakthiar with double large medallions very structured thanks to the yellow and blue nets which underline the decorations and whose colors remain flamboyant.
The medallions have the shape of a diamond as a whole and their heart has the shape of a large flower and large leaves. The field is composed of large flowers stylized, colored and knotted with a very great application of symmetry, medallions, decorations, spandrels.
The most represented flower remains the rose, flower of the Bakthiar, which is very present on this piece
This type of Bakthiar carpet is not the most common, it remains a style of carpet called nomadic, using colors specific to their repertoire.
This carpet is particularly neat in its decoration and it presents a certain transition between the nomadic carpet and the carpet of the cities. These carpets are resistant knotted with wools of very high quality coming from the mountains.
Despite their name and unlike different types of carpets, the Bakthiar are not knotted by the members of the Bakthiar tribe, the Bakhtiaris, but by another population today sedentary.
The region of Chahar Mahal produces the Bakthiar carpet but also the less known Yalame, more recent in manufacture but of very good reputation. A very slight wear due to its beautiful age, the double selvedges are impeccable, it is a finely tightened carpet, more than a hundred years old and of very high quality.
This carpet has been professionally and ecologically cleaned.
