He was a friend of the sculptors Auguste de Niederhausern, Gaston Schnegg, Jane Poupelet, Antoine Bourdelle. In 1918, he created the official bust of Victorious France. His first period is similar to Rodin's neo-romanticism, then he moved closer to Charles Despiau's neo-classicism. His works can be seen in the public collections of the Musée National d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, the Centre Pompidou and the Musée de Grenoble (bronzes, plaster casts, drawings). He was elected a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts in 1943.
