By the French sculptor Louis HOLWECK (1861-1935), this allegorical group on wine and the grape harvest, representing a dancing Bacchus, at his feet, a small divinity (faun), lying in bunches of grapes. Original subject in spelter with green antique bronze patina with on its base the signature of the artist and the inscription "LE VIN". On the back a small stamp "Fabrication française - Paris". The subject rests on a base in sea green marble, with steps and ogee. Small copper plaque with the mention: By Holweck (Salon des Beaux-Arts) Acquired by the city of Paris”. Very good general condition.
