Commode stool or "necessity" coffee table, baluster base topped with a stack of trompe-l'oeil "Les Mystères de Paris" books opening onto a planter with a small side compartment containing a ceramic container. Interior lined with bookbinding paper. The discreet and elegant commode chair from the early 19th century. Good condition and clean! Size 46 x 35 x 50 cm.
