"Art Deco Evening Cape In Duchess Satin And Gold Brocaded Lamé - France Circa 1920"
Circa 1920/1930FranceBeautiful Art Deco evening cape with the orientalist inspiration of a Burnous in black Duchesse satin and gold brocaded lamé dating from the 1920s. Cape with large amplitude and arm loops allowing a draped effect. A wide reversible gold lamé border starts from the shoulders to spread over the arms and on the front which is longer. The cape is tied in front thanks to a matching gold lamé bias. The back is shorter, with a triangular tab in black satin (modified later?) ending in a tassel of passementerie with black silk fringes. No lining or label, although this work recalls that of the great Parisian couturiers. No defects to report. Very good condition of color and preservation. Wearable today.Dimensions: Presented on a size 38 France mannequin. Measured flat: width 140 cm, height front 138 cm, height back 83 cm, width of the bottom 520 cm.
