Late 17th early 18th centuryFrance or ItalySmall table mat in crimson red brocatelle with large decoration dating from the end of the 17th century, the assembly being from the 19th century. Precious brocatelle (silk and linen) with an ordered decoration of urns laden with pomegranates, grapes, and cornucopias stylized with cabbage leaves. The damask effect is obtained by a matte woven background obliquely and the decoration in shiny satin. The lining of yellow sateen and the braids in threads of golden blades are from the 19th century. Beautiful period patina of the silk superficially worn in places, revealing the linen weave. The whole remains stable, solid and usable without problem in historical decoration.Dimensions: 113 cm x 62 cm
