Rare religious oil painting on sheet metal depicting two angels/putti holding a banner or wreath of flowers.
It reads AMSR in gilded letters: Ave Maria Salve Regina and, below: "I am the Immaculate Conception".
On March 25, 1858 in Lourdes, the day of the 16th apparition, Bernadette asked the Lady her name. The Lady replied in patois, which translated as: "I am the Immaculate Conception". This rare tribute to Our Lady may have been made in honor of the miracle of Lourdes.
It is in fair but used condition: wear to the polychromy, dirt mostly, two old restorations on the putto on the right and a small hole under the inscription. See the pictures.
