"Cutlery, Silver, Nets, Coat Of Arms, Paris, 1742"
Four forks and three spoons, very beautiful silver cutlery, filet model, the spatulas engraved with alliance coats of arms under a marquis' crown. The man's coat of arms is that of the Maridor family, azure with three golden wheat sheaves. Paris 1742-1743. Master silversmith Jean Chabrol received on January 21, 1709. Weight 619g - length of forks 19.5cm, spoons 19.8cm and 20.1cm (2). Condition, very good. A more worn spoon whose rounding was previously redone. These cutlery are early. Jacques Anthiaume (received in 1758) invented a machine for making filet cutlery which was very popular in the 18th century. These filet cutlery are made by hand and of very good quality. Rare for the period and for the condition.
