"Late 18th Century Directoire Coffee Table With Inlays "
Elegant small
side table made of carved cherry and walnut, enriched with ebonized pastiglia
inlays. The inlays, which adorn both the top and the band of the undertop,
feature geometric and floral motifs that give a touch of refinement. On the
undertop, the inlaid details develop into floral festoons, interspersed with
vases and figurative coats of arms, highlighting the high quality of the
craftsmanship. The legs, with a sabre design, end with wheels that facilitate
movement. This coffee table is also equipped with a practical drawer, perfect
for storing small objects, and an intermediate shelf between the legs, which is
also functional. With its sophisticated style and innate class, this coffee
table is able to elegantly enrich any environment. Lombard manufacture (Northern
Italy) of the Directoire period, around the end of the 18th century.
