BACH Marcel
Born May 21, 1879 in Bordeaux.
Died November 2, 1950 in Bordeaux. (Gironde).
Twentieth century. Painter of landscapes and still-lifes.
After studying at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux, he exhibited in Paris at the Salon des Independants Artsistes, between 1906 and 1932. He also participated in the Salon d'Automne and from 1920 to 1931 Salon des Tuileries in 1924-1933. Soldier and prisoner of war of 1914-1918, he made some works about the war, but he was especially attracted by the southwestern landscape of France, settling in Marcillac. His works are treated with simplicity, robustness, in muted tones.
