Born in Oran, he lived almost exclusively for painting, tracing an expressionist path that disconcerted his patrons and contemporaries, despite countless exhibitions, but which today finds a just echo in the hearts of lovers of modern art.
This painting, very early in his work, dates from his first stay in Paris in 1947, financed by a group of Oran amateurs who believed in him.
The warm palette with exacerbated colors in a very paste-like material contrasts with the gentle tenderness of the subject, a young breastfeeding mother...
