"Important L XVI Marble Clock"
Important clock known as "Lost Love" or "Time Passing" in white marble depicting a vestal virgin leaning on an urn revealing a dial encircled in bronze, the whole resting on a base in blue turquin marble. Beautiful quality of sculpture. Thread mechanism, dial hands in the shape of stylized lyres. The date hand is blocked. Louis XVI period Dimensions: Height: 65 cm Width: 32.5 cm Depth: 22.5 cm We find a similar clock in the collections of the Pavlovsk Palace in Saint Petersburg.
