"Rare Early Miles Mason Ironstone Vase, Chinoiserie Decoration, Regency Period, Circa 1810"

This rare antique Miles Mason ironstone vase is an outstanding example of early 19th-century English chinoiserie ceramics, dating to around 1810. Produced during the Regency period, it reflects the fascination of the British middle class with oriental art, offering an elegant alternative to costly Chinese porcelain.

The vase is finely made in classic baluster form, decorated by hand in vibrant polychrome enamels. Alternating panels depict charming oriental garden scenes with Chinese figures, pavilions, and flowering trees, interspersed with scrolling foliage and floral designs. The use of bold green, blue, red, and yellow enamels against a soft white ground showcases the richness typical of early Mason wares.

The underside bears a mock Chinese seal mark in underglaze blue, a feature commonly seen on early Mason ironstone made to evoke Chinese export porcelain. The surface exhibits a beautiful fine craquelure typical of period glazing, enhancing the antique character of the piece.

This vase has been UV-tested and shows no signs of damage or restoration, making it a rare and desirable example for collectors of antique English ceramics, Miles Mason ironstone, or chinoiserie decorative arts.
