"Dreyse Rifle"
Dreyse rifle model 1841, dated 1856-1859. The Dreyse rifle is one of the first breech-loading rifles. Equipped with a rifled barrel increasing range and accuracy, this rifle equipped the Prussian army from the War of the Duchies and showed its effectiveness during the Austro-Prussian War. The Dreyse rifle (well supported by the Bavarian Weber-Gewehr M/1869 rifle) was opposed to the Chassepot rifle during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870.
