Very elegant Mass chalice in solid silver from the Louis XV period. The foot and the knot are typical for the Mosan region . These forms are also found in Liège and Huy. The dome of the foot is engraved with a Lorraine cross and on the edges there is an engraving indicating its weight in ounces (17) and sterlins (18) and a year: 1749, probably the year of its acquisition by the first owner and given the biographical dates of its author probably also the year of its manufacture. On the edge there are also two partially worn hallmarks: - the guarantee hallmark of the city of Namur, a rampant lion surmounted by a lighter (link of the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece) - the master goldsmith hallmark of Thomas Bouchon, crowned TB
