"Lithograph By Henri Rivière Aspects Of Nature - Cape Town"
This lithograph “Les Aspects de la Nature - Le Cap” is signed Henri Rivière at the bottom left. The work is authentic and old. For the condition, note in the margin, three small tears at the top (0.5, 0.3 and 1.2 cm), small stains, slight undulations of the paper on the right. On the litho, we report small stains in places. The lithograph is very fresh in color, once framed most of the defects will be barely visible. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) is a French painter, engraver and illustrator. He began his career with drawing then with intaglio engraving and specifically etching in 1882. At the same time, he began a career as a director and scenographer, in 1886, of the shadow theater at the Cabaret du Chat Noir, shows that he improved by creating very innovative color sets. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving and established himself in the history of etching, printmaking, woodcuts, lithography and watercolor (he painted around a thousand watercolors).
