Volume 1 is signed by the author in ink at the bottom of the page after the text "Privilège du Roi" (King's Privilege).The book is accompanied by a business card, compliments of Jean Claude Sabrier and bearing his signature. This business card is stapled to a photocopy of another treatise also bearing Thiout's signature. This suggests a provenance from J.C. Sabrier's library or an expert appraisal by him.Two volumes in good overall condition, complete with all pages and plates. Note a missing corner on two consecutive pages (see photo), and two small 1 cm tears at the bottom of two pages (see photo). 18th-century ink corrections are also noted. Old repairs in the margin of the 19th century on a few pages not affecting the text
