Straight single-edged steel blade shaped on the counter-edge.
Silver ferrule chased with geometric friezes and foliage.
Blackened wood spindle carved in a grid pattern.
Silver cap pommel, engraved en suite.
Wooden scabbard sheathed in black leather.
Silver cap and bolt chased with foliage, hallmarked with a profile in an oval, a coat of arms and monogrammed ‘M&S’.
In Scottish Gaelic, the term ‘sgian dubh’ means ‘little knife’. It is one of the attributes of the officers of the Gordon Highlanders.
