French Louis XV Period Lyonnais Carved Walnut Fire Screen, Circa 1740-1750
This elegant fire screen from the Louis XV period stands out with its finely carved walnut frame. The decor features a heart motif within a shell, surrounded by laurel branches, while the uprights are adorned with leafy clasps. The feet, strongly molded, curve gracefully.
The frame is upholstered with a blue-hued damask silk, enhanced with leafy branches, a creation of the Maison Lelièvre.
A fine example of Lyonnais cabinetmaker, showcasing the skill of artisans from the early Louis XV period.
