Period: circa 1790
Origin: Vicenza, Veneto
Wood: Walnut and Bois de Rose
Measurements:
Height: 85 cm
Width: 126 cm
Depth: 59 cm
Description:
Elegant chest of drawers from Vicenza, from the Neoclassical / Louis XVI period, made of walnut with inlays of rosewood and boxwood, which embellish the front, top, and sides. The gently shaped structure and the thin, curved legs give lightness to the piece.
The chest has four drawers: two small ones at the top and two larger ones below. All edges of the piece are emphasized by a “crossbanding” technique (a highly refined woodworking method that uses small inlays with the grain of the wood placed perpendicularly).
The chest is in good condition and further restoration can be performed according to the buyer’s preferences.
