Object description :

"Pair Of Large Patinated Bronze Heron Candlesticks With Tripod Legs In The Antique Style, 19th Century"
Rare large pair of patinated bronze torches straight from Ancient Rome, these magnificent and majestic candelabras are very decorative and a curiosity due to the enthusiasm of archaeology and museums following the discovery of Pompeii for the ancient times of the magnificent Roman Republic, cradle of our civilization and creator of so many objects of art; giving the "Neo-Classical" trend of good tone these two beautiful large pieces (70cm) high rest on a tripod base with lioness heads resting on claws. With a beautiful momentum, the shaft decorated with water leaves in shoots on stem and ending in five branches with suspended chains, very elegant and beautifully chiseled, this pair is decorated with elegant fine bobeches and, at the top a heron slaying a snake and another wiser heron on the back of a turtle. Beautifully finished, graceful and very much in the Antique spirit these two beautiful table pieces will know how to illuminate your festive meals and will be a chic asset to your decoration. These two beautiful pieces are at a very competitive price and at half their value commonly sold in the rare case where one would encounter them...
