"Paris Porcelain: Dessert Service Circa 1840"
Dessert service, in Paris porcelain, composed of twelve plates, two compotes, and a raised dish for cakes. The decoration is centered on each plate with a fruit (cherries, plums, pears, apples) and the edge of the plate is painted with a light garland of flowers. The whole is painted on solid white porcelain, still with a very irregular paste, as in the 18th century. We should note the wear of the gold of the borders, as well as a hair on a compote and a chip on the cake dish. The whole is very decorative, full of gaiety.
